Winter Camp

Snow at Camp Michigania

Experience an enchanting getaway at Michigania this winter. Cross-country ski or snowshoe in the pristine beauty of snow-covered landscapes or just get cozy in front of the roaring fires of our fieldstone fireplaces. Truly, winter in Michigan is a thing of beauty, and nowhere is it better than at Michigania. It’s a delightful journey and adventure for the entire family (children must be 5 years old and up to attend).

Each winter session includes lodging, reception, meals, and activities. Additional charges may apply in our Ceramics, Arts & Crafts area and Camp Store that will be charged to your account and settled at checkout on the final day. Guest cabins are nestled adjacent to Walloon Lake. Cabin units offer either one or two bedrooms with their own private bath and shower. Cabinmates share a spacious gathering room, convenient for a game of cards, conversation, or a quiet hour of reading. Vaulted ceilings, spruce paneling, and magnificent views provide a charming atmosphere.

All meals are served in Michigania’s Education Center dining room, featuring rustic iron chandeliers and a gracious fireplace. Elegant candlelight dinners are only one of the special touches that make the Michigania experience unforgettable. The Alumnae Council Education Center offers meeting space, comfortable lounges, complete dining, kitchen facilities, and six fireplaces. With captivating views of the surrounding wooded area, wildlife, and lake, it’s an inviting space that encourages conversation or quiet reflection.

COVID-19 Policy

As the pandemic situation evolves, Camp Michigania continues to strategize the best options for our program with our public health and medical professionals For Winter Camp, we will announce any changes to the requirements by Dec. 3.

  • All adult guests (18+) are required to be fully vaccinated prior to arriving at camp.
    • Staff will be fully vaccinated and required to check for symptoms daily.
    • As of this time, we will be asking everyone to have a mask with them around camp with the expectation they are worn while indoors (except in individual cabins), but not required outdoors, unless in large groups or when distancing is impossible.
      • We know that expectations for masking may change throughout the fall as guidance from the CDC as well as state and local officials is adjusted.
  • Each guest must submit proof of vaccination (for those 18+) prior to arriving at camp. We will be partnering with Kokomo24/7 to offer an easy, and secure, way to upload your proof of vaccination online.
    • Proof must be in the form of the original vaccination record document issued by either (1) the country’s health authority that administered the vaccination (e.g., U.S. CDC’s Vaccination Record Card) or (2) the guest’s medical provider that administered the vaccination.
      • The vaccination record submitted to Camp Michigania must show that the guest is fully vaccinated. This means that the guest has completed the full cycle of required doses for the vaccine administered (e.g., received the second dose in a two-dose series) and that the guest has received the final dose at least 14 days before arriving at camp.

Camp Michigania reserves the right to suspend programming at any time. In the event that the State of Michigan issues revised regulations that would prohibit Camp Michigania from being able to accommodate your reservation or Camp Michigania determines it must close due to the ongoing pandemic, your will automatically receive a refund.
