Winter in Michigan is a thing of beauty, and nowhere is it better than Camp Michigania. Seek adventure in the elements or get cozy in front of a roaring fire during this enchanting getaway.
Just south of Petoskey, along beautiful Walloon Lake, sits Camp Michigania, the home away from home for Michigan alums and their families.
During Winter Camp, you can stay for a few days or spend a whole week at Michigania. Lodging, meals, and accommodations in modern cabins are included for all sessions. Plus, enjoy wintertime activities like cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding as well as movie nights, family games and tournaments, and more. It’s a delightful way to close out your year.
Winter Break Break-Away:

Ring in the New Year:
Friday, Dec. 29–Monday, Jan. 1
• First adult: $650
• Each additional camper: $550

*This event is reserved for adults and children 5 and older. Additional fees may apply.
You must be a member of the Alumni Association to submit an application. Due to high demand, a lottery may be utilized. For applications received after Nov. 15, confirmations will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
There will be a $35 fee for each camper canceled from an application after Dec. 10 who is not replaced with another camper. In case you are not able to attend, you must submit your cancellation by email. If you cancel your application 14 or more days before the start of the event, you will receive a full refund, less a $50 processing fee. If you cancel less than 14 days, your fees will be forfeited.

Winter Camp Activities
Campfires
Campfire locations include lakeside or in a clearing in the woods. You bring the conversation, and we’ll provide the s’mores!
Cross-Country Skiing
Cross-country skis are available to check out for exploring the campgrounds and wooded trails with both guided and “on your own” cross-country ski excursions.
Faculty Forum Speaker
Hear from a University of Michigan faculty or staff member as they provide insight into an area of expertise.
Family Games & Tournaments
The Activity Room in the Education Center offers a home for family game nights and board-game/card tournaments any time of the week. Games and cards may also be checked out for use in your cabin. At least one special event takes place in the Activity Room each week (trivia, euchre, etc.).
Fitness & Yoga
Early morning fitness options are available throughout Winter Camp.
Guided Hikes
Explore Michigania with a staff member on several guided hikes that will take you to different beautiful camp locales.
Movie Night
Each night, campers help decide on a movie that the group can watch together.
Snowshoeing
Snowshoes are available to check out for guided hikes off the beaten path or for exploring on your own.
Sledding
For the kids and kids at heart! Sleds are available for sledding down any one of our sledding hills.
