A Message to Our Campers and Staff About COVID-19
Michigania Campers and Summer 2020 Staff,
First and foremost, we hope that this message finds you and your family well. It goes without saying that we are living through an unprecedented and concerning time, and we are continually monitoring the situation and consulting with health experts, government officials, and other camp professionals. We feel a huge sense of responsibility to take a thoughtful and informed approach as we continue to prepare for the summer.
The purpose of this message is to provide you with what we hope will be some peace of mind, and even a little optimism, regarding some important questions/issues related to summer 2020 at Camp Michigania.
Is Camp still on for this summer? In a word, YES. With Day 1 of Victors Week not until June 13, we are all planning for an epic camp season ahead! We are definitely maintaining a positive attitude. However, as this situation evolves, much will change in the next three months; we hope that developments will enable us to operate camp as long as it meets our and your top priority: that it can be done in a safe and healthy way. If so, we will do everything that we can to make camp happen, following guidelines from health care experts and local, state, and federal agencies.
Moving forward, as we receive updates, you can expect additional communications from us regarding our plans for the upcoming season.
In the meantime, our team is gearing up for summer by continuing to hire our program staff and planning a magical summer of programming for you and your family.
Due to increased concerns and uncertainty, Camp Michigania is making a significant adjustment to our cancellation policy.
- Camp Michigania will waive all cancellation fees through May 14, 2020. If you decide to cancel between now and May 14, we will refund your full deposit/payment made to date. On May 15, all final payments will be due, and our current cancellation policy will apply. Cancellations need to be in writing and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- If we determine, based on everyone’s health and safety, we are unable to offer camp for a portion of, or the entire, summer, we will refund your fees. You will have the option to donate all or part of your fees to the Camp Michigania General Fund.
- At this time we are reviewing our priority policies and will keep you updated if there are any changes.
Your health and safety remain our top priority, so please know we are here to ensure that you have the best possible camp experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 231.582.9191 or email email@example.com.
