Scholarships

Since its establishment in 1887, the University of Michigan Alumni Association of Greater Washington, DC (UMDC) has provided over one million dollars in scholarships to local students attending the University and has supported Michigan students traveling to the Washington area for unique volunteer and internship opportunities.

Currently, UMDC provides:

  • LEAD Scholars Program: $10,000 to the University of Michigan Alumni Association’s LEAD scholar program to support a Washington area student and to enrich the University’s diverse student body and academic culture.
  • PSIP: $5,000 to local DC charities, and University students visiting or living in the Washington-area for academic-related work through Michigan’s Public Service Internship Program and Michigan in Washington Program.
