Give to Future Alumni of Michigan Scholars Program
The Future Alumni of Michigan (FAM) scholars program aims to support low-to-moderate-income admitted students — especially first-generation college students — at the University of Michigan by reducing financial barriers. Through the FAM community, the Alumni Association also aims to foster a sense of belonging and future readiness by connecting scholars with peers and alumni who support their academic, professional, and personal development.
By supporting the FAM scholars program, you are playing a key role in expanding access to a life-changing education and building bridges for exceptional students on their way to the University of Michigan. You can help make campus a more enriching place for all Wolverines by recruiting students from different backgrounds, experiences, and mindsets.
Your Gift In Action
Unmet Need
The Alumni Association provides scholarships to students after they have received their financial aid package from the University to help cover remaining costs not addressed by other forms of aid.
Flexibility
The FAM scholarship supports undergraduate students in any school or college. It is renewable each year, even if they change their major or transfer to another school or college at U-M’s Ann Arbor campus.
Community
It’s more than financial support — the FAM community experience provides scholars with access to alumni worldwide and fosters connections that enhance networking and future career opportunities.
University Impact
The University offers a variety of resources to support students financially; however, these are limited and do not meet the needs of all students. The Alumni Association can expand support for students with need and help U-M attract a broader range of students.
The Future Alumni of Michigan scholars program is administered by the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan, an independent 501(c)(3) organization separate from the University of Michigan, with Tax ID 23-7206591. The Alumni Association of the University of Michigan is committed to following anti-discrimination provisions and laws.
