U-M Club of Orange County: Scholarships

The UMAOC is focused on representing and increasing awareness of the University of Michigan among prospective students, their parents, and teachers in Orange County. The club’s primary activities associated with its Scholarship and Student Relations initiative are listed below:

-Contact with high school guidance counselors and teachers in high schools within Orange County

-Hosting prospective student receptions, current student–prospective student parties, college night participation, receptions for parents of current students, etc.

-Maintaining a scholarship fund for students within Orange County

-Awarding at least one scholarship each year for a current U-M student from Orange County and another scholarship for an incoming freshman from Orange County.  For the 2020-21 U-M school year, UMAOC has awarded 13 scholarship totaling $18,500.00.  Applications for the 2021-22 U-M school year will be available in the spring of 2021 and will be due to the scholarship committee by June 30, 2021.  For more information contact Ben Sottile at bsottile@umich.edu.
