The U-M Club of Greater Northville considers the awarding of scholarships to area students one of its highest priorities.  Since 1991, the Club has aided 245 students with $183,000. In 2024, we awarded six $1,000 scholarships to outstanding high school seniors from west metro Detroit. Learn more about past scholarship recipients.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP

Who is eligible?

  • High school seniors
  • Admitted to one of the three U-M campuses (Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Flint)
  • Living in west metro Detroit within the boundaries of the U-M Club of Greater Northville (see application for list of eligible ZIP Codes)

Deadline for 2024 scholarship applications was March 31, 2024. Information for 2025 will be posted in January 2025.

The requirements for 2024 are described here, however, this information may change in 2025.

The application requires you to answer some basic questions and to upload a document (word or PDF) to answer these two prompts: 

1. Community Involvement: Please list any volunteer activities or leadership roles.

2. Application Essay: Based on your personal unique experiences, why is the University of Michigan the perfect fit for you? (up to 250 words)

The deadline and list of eligible communities/ZIP Codes are included on the application form.

HOW TO GIVE TO LOCAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

If you are like most alumni, being a Wolverine has made a lasting impression and created a lifelong quest for excellence. Now you can help others in their quest for excellence. Since 1991, the U-M Club of Greater Northville has been helping students chase their dreams by providing scholarships to help cover the cost of a University of Michigan education. Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors residing in west metro Detroit who demonstrate outstanding ability in leadership, scholarship, and activities.  These scholarships make a difference in the lives and academic careers of students.
