The Board of Governors for the U-M Club of Greater Northville is an all-volunteer group of Michigan alumni who plan and organize alumni events and programs in west metro Detroit. Board members come from many backgrounds, but all share one thing in common – a love of the University of Michigan! The Board meets monthly, often over dinner at the Northville Sports Den. We are always looking to bring new ideas and energy to the club! If you are interested in volunteering, or want to reach any of our board members, please contact us at NorthvilleClub@umich.edu.
Meet our current Board members!
|Chris Vucinaj, BA’13, MAcc’15|
Chris is a proud Double (degree) Wolverine and a CPA currently working in IT Audit. Chris’s favorite U-M memories include attending most home football and basketball games, piling into a car with friends to go to Atlanta to see Michigan in the Final Four, and winning an intramural basketball championship with many of the same friends.
Patty Donohue Ebach, B.S.’85, M.S.E.’86
With U-M degrees in Physical Education and Kinesiology, Patty has spent her 35+ year career in fitness center and recreation facility and program management. She is married to a Spartan and has two Spartan daughters – Where did Mama go wrong?! As a student, Patty loved her work at all three campus recreation facilities. She is passionate about Michigan sports and will always love Ann Arbor!
Megan Riethmiller, BA’15
Megan grew up in the area and always wanted to be a Wolverine! Her work included the Peace Corps before moving into higher education administration. Megan’s best Michigan memories include hanging out with her pre-law fraternity friends, attending the first night football games, and studying abroad in Spain. Megan loves a great non-fiction book and can be found experimenting in the kitchen.
Rick Franczak, BBA’79
Rick has served the Northville Club in a number of leadership positions, including President. For many years, Rick has chaired the club’s largest annual event – a student sendoff welcoming incoming freshmen from west metro Detroit into the U-M community.
Mary Baumgarten, BA’80
Mary comes from a pack of Wolverines – 4 siblings, 4 children, and husband David. After Ann Arbor, she pursued a career in advertising and marketing and is currently Marketing Director at Novastar Solutions. Mary is a past Secretary, Vice President and President of the Northville Club. Her Michigan memories include producing musical theater, Delta Delta Delta sorority, and Football Saturdays. Mary enjoys skiing, golf, travel and reading.
Ron Braun, BAED’72
Jagruti Dhande, MSE’20
With a major in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Jagruti is currently working in project management for electric vehicle company, Rivian. Her U-M memories include spending late nights in university libraries to complete projects and discuss innovative technological ideas. She loves canvas painting, swimming, dancing, and deep-sea diving.
Carol Ehrle, BA’82
Carol is excited to be on the Northville board handling social media after five years on the U-M Silicon Valley Club board. Her favorite college memories are long nights working (and partying) with fellow writers on the Michigan Daily and Michigan Journal.
Bob Hayes, BGS’02
Roland Hwang, BSE’71, MBA’76
Roland is a lecturer in the Department of American Culture at U-M. His best Michigan memories include being at the Big House for U-M’s 1969 24-12 upset over OSU and going to see Bo’s first trip to the Rose Bowl in 1970. As a student, Roland lived in Oxford co-op housing and enjoyed spending time in the Arboretum.
Sally Lorimer, BBA’81
Sally comes from a multi-generational Wolverine family in which practically everyone bleeds maize and blue. She works as a business writer. Her favorite campus memories include beating OSU in football and traying in the arb when campus closed for a blizzard. Sally enjoys watching Michigan sports with alumni at the Northville Sports Den.
Adam Perry, BA’14, MSW’17
Adam is a proud 4th generation U-M grad currently working in administration for Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan. Adam has attended most home football games since a young age (his favorite is the triple overtime win over MSU). Fond U-M memories include driving to Atlanta for the Final Four with friends (including fellow board member Chris) and hanging out at St. Mary Student Parish in Ann Arbor.
Richard Potchynok, BA’71
Tim Rahtz, CIS’92
Tim’s U-M degree has opened many doors for his career in IT, including a recent move into a product strategy role. Tim’s favorite campus memories include being part of the rowdy student section for hockey games in Yost Arena where renditions of “Goalie! Sieve!” and other choice (but less-printable) cheers were shared with visiting teams. Tim is an avid Michigan football fan and loves to scuba dive, ski, and road/mountain bike.
Dr. Edwin Rennell, DDS’60
Ed retired recently after practicing oral surgery in Livonia for 48 years. Among his memories are his undergrad years in the Michigan Marching Band, especially the road trips to Northwestern, Minnesota (by train), MSU, and that team down south. Ed looks forward to meeting up with alumni at the Northville Sports Den for football away game viewing parties.
