Alumnae Council
National Service Citation Award
Initiated in 1954, the Alumnae Council’s National Service Citation award honors UMAC members who have been active in alumnae functions for a minimum of five (5) years. Individuals who qualify for this award have regularly attended annual Fall and Spring Alumnae Council meetings, have held leadership positions in the Alumnae Council and on the local alumnae club level such as officer, board member, standing committee chair, and committee chair for at least two (2) years, and have overall exhibited a willingness to assume leadership and to promote a positive and informative image of the U-M in the community. Recent recipients include:

- Diane Hummel – Grand Rapids Federation
- Roberta Zald – Henderson House
- Dr. Helen Clay-Spotser — Detroit Association
- Helen Hill – Henderson House
- Lea Goodsell — Unaffiliated
- Sondra Loucks Wilson — Grand Rapids Federation
- Edith Bletcher – Unaffiliated
- Cerise Tounsel – Detroit Association
Council Recognition Award
Initiated in 1993, the Alumnae Council’s Recognition Award honors UMAC members who have been active in alumnae functions for a minimum of three (3) years. Individuals who qualify for this award have held leadership positions on the local alumnae club level such as officer, committee chair, or event chair, and have overall exhibited a willingness to promote a positive and informative image of the U-M in the community. Recent recipients include:

- Ethel Revels – Detroit Association
- Jade VanderVelde – Grand Rapids Federation
