U-M Club of Greater Northville: Scholarship Information for Students

The U-M Club of Greater Northville awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors from select West Metro Detroit communities who accept admission to the University of Michigan.

1. U-M Club of Greater Northville Scholarship – application is closed 

Who is eligible?

    • High school seniors
    • Admitted to one of the three U-M campuses (Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Flint)
    • Living in west metro Detroit within the footprint of the U-M Club of Greater Northville (see application for list of eligible ZIP Codes)

Application deadline 

    • March 22, 2026

Award amount 

    • $1500

    • The application requires you to answer some basic questions and to upload a document (Word or PDF) to answer these two prompts.  

1. Community Involvement: Please list any volunteer activities or leadership roles.

2. Application Essay: Based on your personal unique experiences, why is the University of Michigan the perfect fit for you? (up to 250 words)

2. Vanessa Pawlak Memorial Scholarship – application is closed   

This scholarship was established in memory of former U-M Club of Greater Northville board member Vanessa Pawlak, celebrating her love for Michigan and her commitment to supporting women in engineering.

Who is eligible?

    •  Female high school seniors planning to pursue a career in Engineering 
    • Admitted to one of the three U-M campuses
      • Ann Arbor – College of Engineering
      • Dearborn – College of Engineering & Computer Science
      • Flint – College of Innovation & Technology
    • Living in west metro Detroit within the footprint of the U-M Club of Greater Northville (see application for list of eligible ZIP Codes)

Application deadline 

    • March 22, 2026

Award amount 

    • $2000

1. Personal Background: What is your personal motivation/passion for wanting to pursue engineering as a career? (250 word limit)

2. Area of Interest: What engineering area do you hope to focus on and why? (250 word limit)

3. School Spirit: Why are you passionate about attending the University of Michigan? (250 word limit)
