Here is a tip I found from Executive Coach Andy Robinson from the CRG Leadership Institute LLC:

Immediately following a presentation, an event you organized, a meeting you were in charge of, or an important project that you wrapped up, or something as important as a job or career fair consider making up a
"3 x 3 Evaluation" as follows:

1 - Write down three key "take-aways" from from this event (things you learned, things you need to remember, things that might help you in the future).

Let's be honest - Age discrimination happens. It is tough to avoid but you can take steps on your resume to reduce the chances and allow you to get the interview where you will shine.

Preparing a resume that emphasizes your value is a good first step to preparing for your job search. Here are ways to age-proof your resume:

I hear this everyday - Any time I ask the interview question: Tell me about yourself, people struggle. I found this great blog from Ira Kalb and added my own three cents (as usual)...

I am amazed everyday when job seekers come to see me in Ann Arbor and have no clue what LinkedIn is. It is no longer what you know or who you know - it is who do they know and who knows them. This article is one of the best I've seen in terms of what do do while you wait. Penny Locey gets it!

That stretch between the first interview and the second one can be a killer. So too is the waiting if the hiring manager is so busy to finish interviews or reach a decision.

The hiring cycle is stretching longer as employers are more selective. Jobs that used to take two months to fill may take four times as long, as managers wait for better candidates, according to a WSJ.com article last month.
