I petitioned the court in Rome to recognize my daughters and me as Italian citizens and we were recently granted that status. My grandparents were born in Southern Italy and I have many relatives in the country. I’m also a huge Bruce Springsteen fan and one of my most exciting moments were when my daughter and I were pulled on stage at his concert in Nashville to dance with him during “Dancing in the Dark.”
I teach courses in business law, including business organizations, legal aspects of entrepreneurship, corporate governance and cross-cultural negotiations. My research interests are in corporate governance including duties of the board of directors and improving gender diversity. I also research cross-cultural issues in connection with negotiation strategies. I have co-authored a book on the role of business in promoting peaceful societies.
Italy is a beautiful country, and a cultural and culinary haven. It is also quite literally in my blood. I have recently been recognized by Italy as an Italian citizen. I enjoy traveling with our fascinating alumni and learning about their life stories.
