I serve as the assistant director of the UMICH Votes Coalition, a nonpartisan campus coalition whose mission is to improve voting accessibility and foster the confidence needed to navigate the voting process successfully. My responsibilities include coordinating the logistics for our Campus Voting Hubs at UMMA and the Duderstadt Gallery, so my background as an architectural historian comes in handy.
While my research focuses on the urban development of Rome over two millennia, I’ve taught art history at U-M and other schools for the last twenty-five years, including monuments we’ll be visiting on this trip. The Parthenon and Hagia Sophia are fundamental to the development of Western architecture, and it will be wonderful to explore these sites — and all of the sites of our voyage — with our alumni travelers!
