U-M Role

I lead the Center for the Education of Women+. In this role, across the office, we develop funding programs to support students financially (scholarships, fellowships, graduation grants, emergency funding) and provide free education and career counseling to anyone in our community (including non-U-M participants). Additionally, we host several named lectures each year, bringing local, national, and international speakers to campus. As a small office, we often partner with academic units for our events. My research focused on how technology is used differently by gender and the underlying biases in messaging across different types of technology/software.

What Excites You About the Trip?

As a cultural anthropologist, I learned a lot about the Galápagos Islands, but I have never had a chance to see them in person. This will give me that opportunity!
