Become an Mbassador

Launched in fall 2023, Mbassador is the Alumni Association’s student ambassador group. Mbassadors play a vital role in engaging students with the Alumni Association, promoting its programs and services, and ensuring student voices are represented. They collaborate with student organizations and contribute to the development of student-focused initiatives by offering input on programming, events, and outreach.

As the Alumni Association’s on-campus street team, Mbassadors create meaningful opportunities for students to connect with alumni. Through their efforts, they foster stronger relationships between students and alumni while enhancing the student experience.

The Mbassador program consists of student volunteers who meet regularly with Alumni Association staff to brainstorm, plan, and execute student-centered events and programs. These include Welcome Wednesdays, the Forever Go Blue Bash, Wellness Weeks, orientation activities, and homecoming celebrations.

How to Become an Mbassador

To be considered, students must meet the eligibility criteria below and complete an application. Qualified applicants will be invited for an in-person interview.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must serve during both fall and winter semesters
• Must be a currently enrolled University of Michigan student
• Must attend monthly Mbassador meetings and any additional meetings related to assigned events/duties
• Must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Must be a team player with strong organizational abilities
• Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate daytime, evening, and weekend events
