A new poll by the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation shows that three in ten older adults say they’ve been victims of at least one scam. Generally, older adults with health issues were more likely than their peers to report that they lacked confidence in their ability to spot a scam. Jeffrey Kullgren, M.D., M.P.H., M.S, director of IHPI’s National Poll on Healthy Aging, comments on the poll’s findings and the importance of protecting vulnerable populations against scams in the future.
