Cross-referencing 36 organic pollutants, researchers from the University of Michigan are focusing on how drawing a tube of blood could assess ALS risks. Several individual pollutants were significantly associated with ALS risk. Stephen Goutman, M.D., M.S., discusses the findings from the study and the role this research could play in assessing risk for other diseases through environmental factors.
