Researchers at Michigan Medicine are highlighting the potential benefits of Expedited partner therapy (EPT) in reducing STI re-infection, especially when provided by emergency departments. Emily Ager, M.D., M.P.H., emergency medicine resident at Michigan Medicine and an author of the research, discusses the recently completed pilot program and suggests that a wider adoption of EPT take-home kits can help reduce barriers to care and increase community health.
