Welcome to the Michigan Triangle Alumni Club (MTAC), serving members of the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan in the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) of North Carolina. All members of the Alumni Association living in the area are automatically members of MTAC, and there are no additional dues to pay. MTAC events (and our e-mail list) are open to all former students or Michigan fans in the area.
MTAC is a resource for former students, prospective students, and fans of the University of Michigan in the area. We provide opportunities for social interaction, networking, learning, volunteer work, student recruiting, and support for students from the local area. Some of our activities in the past couple of years have included:
- Weekly football-watching in the fall
- Scholarship awards to two U-M students from the Triangle area
- Annual trip to a Durham Bulls game
- Cleanup of our adopted section of the Walnut Creek
- Alumni mixers
- Evening at the NC Museum of Art
Football Game Watching
Football Game Watching is held every football Saturday at the Wing Wing Cafe in Brier Creek,7900 Brier Creek Pkwy, Raleigh, NC 27617. Remember to bring along some cash to buy tickets for our halftime raffle to support the MTAC Scholarship Fund. And be sure to bring donations for the Big Ten Food Drive Challenge, for every ten items you donated you will receive one free raffle ticket for the halftime drawing. Our friends at the Wild Wing Cafe donate 10% of all food sales purchased during our football game watch events. Be sure to turn in your itemized receipt (not the credit card receipt) to the MTAC Board Members working the event. We hope you will join us to cheer and sing The Victors, every football Saturday to support the Wolverines and our scholarship fund.
