U-M Club of Denver: Scholarships

The UM Club of Denver is proud to support the Michigan students who call the Centennial State home. Every year, thanks to the generosity of our local alumni, our club awards a scholarship to an incoming freshman, returning undergrad, and graduate student. The scholarship program runs in the summer, typically kicking off in early June and wrapping up in August. Keep an eye on this webpage for the application and all the details.

If you have any questions about the application process, please contact our Scholarship Chair, Ashley Kaploe.

2025 Scholarship Update

The 2025 scholarship applications have been sent out. If you are a student from the state of Colorado attending the University of Michigan and have not received the application, please reach out to Ashley Kaploe at [email protected].

Please Support!

To continue administering UMCD’s scholarship program, we need your help! Support, of course, can take many forms, including:

  • The Club is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization! Please donate to the UMCD scholarship fund online via the University of Michigan’s secure servers
  • Volunteering to host or assist with a UMCD fundraising event. No assistance is too small.
  • Suggesting a fundraising event or idea for UMCD’s scholarship fund.
  • Donate items such as football tickets, U-M apparel, or any other U-M related items for our scholarship raffles by emailing [email protected].
  • Purchasing our Official UMCD apparel. Stay tuned for details on upcoming sales.

We sincerely appreciate all of your support!

“I am incredibly grateful to be selected for the U-M Club of Denver scholarship. I benefited from advances in biomedical engineering, so I want to make my mark on the world by improving the lives of other patients with new biomedical innovations.

This fall I will be a freshman at the University of Michigan where I will study biomedical engineering. In addition, I want to earn a minor in entrepreneurship. One day, I want to combine my interests in biomedical engineering and business, and be part of the team that launches the next great innovation that makes a positive impact on others. Receiving this scholarship is a reminder that someone believes in the future I am working toward and will also help ease the financial burden of college. Thank you for supporting my dreams, and Go Blue!”

“I’m incredibly grateful to the AAUM Club of Denver for this scholarship. As I head into my senior year, your support further motivates me to finish strong and make the most of the rest of my time at Michigan. I’m pursuing majors in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE), Economics, and English, and I’m especially excited to begin working on my thesis in the philosophy department this year. After graduation, I plan to attend law school, with interests in tax law and public policy. Go Blue!”

“I’m deeply grateful for the scholarship support as I pursue a Master’s in Urban Design at the University of Michigan. With a passion for affordable housing, community revitalization, and trauma-informed design, I’m excited to grow within U-M’s incredible design community. My goal is to use design as a vehicle for social and environmental change, working to uplift and support communities in need.”
