U-M Club of Dallas: Scholarships

The U-M Club of Dallas scholarship program recognizes outstanding University of Michigan incoming undergraduate students from the Club Service Area. Our Scholarship Committee carefully reviews each student’s application and selects recipient(s) based on financial need, academic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities, and contributions to the community.

The scholarship fund is also a vehicle for alumni and friends to give back by helping local students attend the University of Michigan. Scholarships are entirely funded by donations from the DFW-area Michigan community, and the number / amount of scholarships depends on the success of our fundraising efforts.

Apply for a Scholarship from the University of Michigan Club of Dallas

For the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year, the Club is awarding one scholarship in the amount of $6,000 to an incoming first-year student and a second scholarship in the amount of $4,000 open to all undergraduate students.  The scholarship awards are for the upcoming academic year only and are non-renewable.

The scholarship competition is open only to undergraduate students who (1) applied for financial aid for the 2021-2022 school year and (2) had at least some financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.  You may still apply for the scholarship while your financial aid application is pending with the University. However, you will only be eligible to receive an award if you are determined to have at least some financial need. If you were determined to have “no need” or if you did not apply for financial aid, you are not eligible for this scholarship.

The recipients will be selected primarily based on academic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities, and contributions to the community. The selection committee will also consider how meaningful the scholarship would be in helping the recipient afford the cost of out-of-state tuition.

For complete details, download the scholarship application (PDF).

THE DEADLINE FOR APPLYING FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP IS MARCH 31.
