U-M Club of Denver: Scholarships

The UM Club of Denver is proud to support the Michigan students who call the Centennial State home. Every year, thanks to the generosity of our local alumni, our club awards a scholarship to an incoming freshman, returning undergrad, and graduate student. The scholarship program runs in the summer, typically kicking off in early June and wrapping up in August. Keep an eye on this webpage for the application and all the details.

If you have any questions about the application process, please contact our Scholarship Chair, Josh Kweller.

Please Support!

To continue administering UMCD’s scholarship program, we need your help! Support, of course, can take many forms, including:

  • The Club is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization! Please donate to the UMCD scholarship fund online via the University of Michigan’s secure servers
  • Volunteering to host or assist with a UMCD fundraising event. No assistance is too small.
  • Suggesting a fundraising event or idea for UMCD’s scholarship fund.
  • Donate items such as football tickets, U-M apparel, or any other U-M related items for our scholarship raffles by emailing [email protected].
  • Purchasing our Official UMCD apparel. Stay tuned for details on upcoming sales.

We sincerely appreciate all of your support!

“I am so thankful and honored by the U-M Club of Denver and the scholarship committee for selecting me for this scholarship! I cannot express how lucky I am to be supported by such a wonderful community of fellow Wolverines. I am planning on majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biomedical Science with a minor in Environmental Science. I am interested in researching the effects of pollution and environmental crises related to health and the risks of certain diseases, particularly in low-income and minority communities. I cannot wait to continue the next four years at the University of Michigan! Go Blue!” “I am beyond honored to have been selected as a recipient of the 2022 Denver Alumni Club Scholarship. As a Colorado native (born and raised here my entire life up until the moment I left for U of M last year), I appreciate and understand the Colorado-spirit which is unlike anything else and will always be “home”. I will strive to pay forward this blessing as I pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. Eventually, I would love to specialize as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and act on behalf of the preemies who don’t have a voice of their own. Once again, I can not say “thank you” enough. This is such a special gift that will be greatly appreciated for years to come!” “I’m very grateful to the U-M Club of Denver for this award. I treasure my communities in Colorado and at the University of Michigan, and to be recognized by an organization that straddles both places is a special honor. I look forward to keeping the connections alive as I move through my program at U-M and beyond.”

Congratulations, and good luck to all of our Colorado U-M students as the school year gets underway!
