Debby Pool is a BBA graduate of the Ross School of Business, having a concentration in accounting and finance. She also holds a Masters of Science in Holistic Nutrition. She was a CPA in the State of Illinois and spent most of her career with Motorola, headquartered in the Chicago area and was fortunate enough to work extensively throughout Europe and Asia during her career. Debby also worked for Solo Cup Company as VP of Customer Service Operations, leading an acquisitions integration team after the purchase of Sweetheart Cup Company.
Debby’s Michigan “claim to fame” is that she was on the Executive team that developed the MAP program for the Ross School of Business MBA program, a program that over 30 years later is still a cornerstone of the Michigan MBA experience. She was also the Executive sponsor of one of the first MAP teams working for Motorola.
She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and fondly remembers dinners at Casa Dominick’s, along with so many other fun memories of her sorority days. Fun fact: Debby’s dream was to be in the Michigan Marching Band but when she was in school, piccolo players weren’t allowed in the band. Seeing piccolo players in the Marching Band today is so encouraging and shows how far U of M has come in the past few decades. She spent 2 years as part of the Michigan Concert Band and played many concerts at Hill Auditorium.
Earlier in 2024, Debby passed the Arizona Real Estate licensing exam and just recently joined the HomeSmart team. She’s lived in the Phoenix area for over 17 years and she loves hiking, music, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Her “Why” for Michigan: It’s the best school in the country that holds deep traditions and she wants to be a part of connecting alumni of all ages to serve, promote and continue the legacy of the University of Michigan.
