Michigania—the Alumni Association’s Family Camp in Northern Michigan

In the more than four decades since it was established, Michigania has held a special place in the hearts of University of Michigan alumni, faculty, staff and their families. Owned and operated by the Alumni Association, this family camp is located in Michigan’s scenic northern Lower Peninsula and serves more than 4,000 adults and children each summer.

Michigania Magic

The Michigania experience is like no other. Time at Camp includes summer joys like relaxing on the beach, learning to sail, swimming and horseback riding, dabbling in the ceramics classroom, and creating friendships that last a lifetime. In the fall, campers enjoy tours of the fall colors and hayrides, and winter brings snowshoeing and cozying up near the fire with a good book. Simply put, Michigania is a place for building memories. A special feature of Camp Michigania is the blending of education with recreation. U-M faculty members are in residence as campers, providing opportunities for seminar discussions in the evenings and informal conversations throughout the week.

Activities and Amenities

Seasonal activities include boating, canoeing, ceramics, hiking, sailing, tennis and cross country skiing. Well-staffed nursery facilities are available during the summer.

Cabins include vaulted ceilings, spruce paneling, private bathrooms and splendid views. Complete meal service is also provided.
