Dr. Michael Pad, '79, and his wife, Rhonda Dean, '84, believe in the
importance of teaching their children that the connections made at the
University of Michigan as students are important for the rest of their
lives. That's why they became donors to the University.
"The U-M educational experience is much more than sitting in a classroom
and digesting information. We continue to benefit from the positive
events that helped shape and define us at the University of Michigan,"
says Michael.
Michael is an anesthesiologist, and Rhonda is an attorney. They live
West Bloomfield, Michigan, and are long-time Michigania campers. "Giving
support both financially and hands-on helps us express gratitude for our
many good fortunes," says Michael.
Aside from making a gift to the University that makes them part of the
Presidents Club, a society that recognizes donors who have made
substantial cumulative donations, Michael and his family also donate
their time to the Alumni Association. They recently participated in
building The Little Big House, the Alumni Association's home for
hurricane evacuees.
"The life lessons that my children gained from this experience will
continue to remind them of the importance of taking care of others,"
says Michael.
