U-M Role

I am a recently retired aquatic ecologist. At SEAS I was primarily a research scientist studying river ecosystems and the great lakes. In that role I hired students for research roles and oversaw student Masters projects. I also did some teaching including Stream Restoration (co-designed and taught with Civil Engineer Aline Cotel), Aquatic Ecosystems and Aquatic Entomology, and many guest lectures.

Trip Experience

I have visited Norway twice (once long ago) and have relatives there so I know a bit about the country and the landscape. It is a beautiful country and I would like to see it again and go up to the far north. The trip sounds very interesting and educational – I would enjoy learning about the Sami people. I feel that I would add to t he trip based on my previous trips and my heritage.
