I taught classes in urban planning, primarily focused on improving urban sustainability and adapting to climate change. My research concerned urban water systems, nature-based stormwater solutions, and the development of resilience hubs in southeast Michigan.
At the start of my academic career, I taught at Arizona State University for two years. So while I lived in Phoenix for two years and learned to love the desert, I never had the opportunity to visit some of these beautiful parks.
