I did the polar plunge when I traveled to Antarctica!
I moved to Ann Arbor in 1978 to become the founding director of the Human Resources Development Department at the Medical Center. Additionally, I was an instructor in the School of Public Health, Health Behavior and Health Education. After then managing Staff and Union Relations at the Medical Center, I accepted a position in the Department of Surgery where I was the director of Alumni Relations and Development. During my last seven years at the University, I served as the Regional Director for Major and Planned Gifts for nine southern states. I was responsible for new and innovative programs such as the Florida Seminars as well as the Fourth Thursdays Up North programs. My family and I are long term fourth week Michigania campers.
I have traveled in all seven continents and over 30 countries. My wife and I have been the hosts for U of M Alumni trips to Alaska, Galapagos/ Machu Picchu, Baltic cruise and Australia/New Zealand and have been on trips to Eastern Europe, Patagonia(UM), Iceland (UM), Israel and also traveled to Eastern Europe, Israel and Antarctica.
