As the associate chair and professor of musical theatre, I serve as a music director for staged productions and various special events for the department. Additionally, I serve as the curriculum coordinator for musical theatre and teach classes in music theory, music fluency, and ensemble techniques.
I am very excited to see even more of this magical country. Recently, I served as the music supervisor for two professional musical theatre productions in Tokyo: “Rent” in 2024 and “The Full Monty” in 2026. The shows were produced by Kyodo Tokyo, Inc. Featuring an international cast, orchestra, and production team, they represented both a cultural and artistic collaboration. It was thrilling to include five alumni from our department in the cast of these two productions. I am very excited to return to Japan to share this incredible country with more U-M alums.
