U-M Role

I am an associate professor in the Department of American Culture and the director of Latino Studies. I teach courses focused on research methods and material culture. One of my most popular classes is titled Motor Nation: Transportation and Car Cultures in America, which explores the history, culture, and evolution of cars in the United States. I also teach a course on monster theory, where we analyze the various mythical creatures that define American history and reflect societal anxieties.
