Student Advisory Board

Want to help shape the programming that the Alumni Association offers for students? We are looking for a small, diverse group of U-M students who will provide input and influence on the student offerings provided by the Alumni Association, including the benefits and programming of our new Student Life Membership. This group will be influencers for the Alumni Association brand.

Members of the Student Advisory Board will receive a complimentary Student Life Membership as recognition of the dedication and support you will provide to the Alumni Association.

What is the Student Advisory Board?

The purpose of the Student Advisory Board shall be to act as a liaison between the Alumni Association and students. The Student Advisory Board will advise the Alumni Association on the needs of Michigan students and assist in ensuring that Alumni Association student programming is relevant and important.

The board will assist the Alumni Association by accomplishing specific objectives:

  • Act as a forum for students and an advisory group to the Alumni Association by conveying the student perspective to the Association, which will assist us in engaging, informing, and serving current students through student-focused programs, events, and initiatives
  • Advise on the changing needs of Michigan students to help keep the Alumni Association at the forefront of the needs and wants of our student population
  • Establish guidelines, protocols, and action plans for the promotion of student events
  • Promote the diversity of the Michigan campus community and foster positive relationships between the University, students, alumni, and friends.

Involvement on the Student Advisory Board will consist of 2-4 in-person meetings per semester and active participation in our Student Advisory Board community.
