Great attention is paid to patients while in care at the hospital and after checkout, but what about the family caregivers of the patient? A study conducted by Michigan Medicin focuses on the well-being of caregivers for patients following a stroke. Lewis Morgenstern, M.D., professor of neurology, neurosurgery, and emergency medicine at University of Michigan Medical School Morgenstern, M.D., suggests that caregivers could suffer long-term effects of dealing with a loved one’s severe illness.
