A Life well spent, George Gregor William Andree accomplished a great deal in his life. Star halfback. Georgia Tech’s head football coach, he started his own practice after graduating from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, but one thing made these accomplishments particularly thrilling – he was deaf. Andree, as he experienced the silence of commencement, became the first deaf man in the United States to receive a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
