On October 19, the Institute for Social Research continued its Insights Speaker Series with a lecture from Mike Mueller-Smith, assistant professor of economics at U-M and a faculty associate at ISR’s Population Studies Center, on how mass incarceration affects the long-term well-being of the aging United States population.
In this lecture, Mueller-Smith covers the current health implications stemming from the mass incarceration era of the 1980s and 1990s, the policy changes that induced it, and how we should care for older adults now facing economic difficulties.
