Cynicism is an understandable response to a world full of injustice and inequality. But often, cynical thinking can trap us into a cycle of belief that deepens social problems: when we expect the worst in people, we often bring it out of them. Jamil Zaki, author of Hope for Cynics: The Surprising Science of Human Goodness, seeks to change that. In an upcoming Positive Links Speaker event, Zaki will share the secret to beating back cynicism: hopeful skepticism—thinking critically about people and our problems while acknowledging our power.

This event is free and open to the public. Attend in person or virtually – registration is required.
