The folk and art music genres have long influenced one another, and when the lines between the two blur, the result is new sound worlds and revolutionary compositional styles. This program, entitled folk·lore, explores this gray zone between the two styles through a “dialogue” between solo cellist Alisa Weilerstein and the string quartet Ariel Quartet, with all five artists performing an uninterrupted suite of traditional folk music from around the world.
This event is open to the public. Tickets are required and are available for purchase at a range of prices.
