According to new research, a couple that drinks together might live longer together, too. In a new paper, Kira Birditt, Ph.D., of the Institute for Social Research’s Survey Research Center, analyzed a theory called “the drinking partnership,” which posits that couples with similar patterns of alcohol use tend to have better marital outcomes.
