Researchers at Michigan Medicine have developed an AI-driven algorithm that accurately predicts death and complications after a percutaneous coronary intervention, or PCI, a minimally invasive procedure used to treat blocked arteries. There are risks associated with PCI, including bleeding and kidney injury. By employing the new AI model, clinicians can determine the proper treatment for their patients, both lowering risk and increasing trust between patients and their healthcare providers.
