Rates of esophageal adenocarcinoma, or EAC, and gastric cardia adenocarcinoma, or GCA, are both highly fatal as the number of cases has increased dramatically in the US and other Western countries. With new research from Michigan Health Lab, the new artificial intelligence tool is able to predict those who may be at high risk of a diagnosis of GCA or EAC. Joel Rubenstein, M.D., M.S., a professor of internal medicine at Michigan Medicine, says that preventative measures can be a saving grace for patients who may be faced with this diagnosis.
