1 In 8 Older Adults Use Cannabis Products, Suggesting Need To Screen For Risks

New research from the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation shows an increased use of cannabis among adults aged 50 to 80. Researchers attribute this rise in part to stress from the pandemic, along with the state-level legalization of cannabis in Michigan. Because their findings proved significant, researchers from IHPI and the U-M Addiction Center are calling for more education and screening of older adults for cannabis-related risks.
