U-M Club of Seattle: For Student Applicants

The Burley Scholarship Committee considers only undergraduate students enrolled full-time at the University of Michigan and residents of the State of Washington at the time of application for the scholarship. Undergraduate recipients whose residency changes to the State of Michigan may be considered at the discretion of the Committee.

Students wishing to apply must have demonstrated financial need as determined by the University’s Financial Aid Office. The primary criteria for awarding scholarships will be academic achievement, diversity of student experience, community service, and demonstration of leadership.

All awards are for one year only. Scholarships may be awarded to one student a maximum of four (4) times and are not renewable. The scholarship will only be available to full-time students for the fall and winter semesters.

Eligible currently enrolled students will receive an invitation to apply via email on or around May 1. The completed application and official transcript are due by May 31. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship committee’s decision by July 15.

Eligible admitted first-year students will receive an invitation to apply via email in March by submitting a completed application and high school transcript. The email will indicate the due date for submission. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship committee’s decision prior to the enrollment deadline, typically by the end of April.
