U-M Club of Seattle: For Student Applicants

The Burley Scholarship Committee considers only undergraduate students enrolled full-time at the University of Michigan and residents of the State of Washington at the time of application for the scholarship. Undergraduate recipients whose residency changes to the State of Michigan may be considered at the discretion of the Committee.

The primary criteria for awarding scholarships will be academic achievement, financial need, diversity of student experience, community service, and demonstration of leadership. For admitted freshmen, the primary criteria will be led by financial need.

All awards are for one year only. Scholarships may be awarded to one student a maximum of four (4) times and are not renewable. The scholarship will only be available to full-time students for the fall and winter semesters.

Invitations to apply for the Roby M. Burley Scholarship are sent out via the students’ umich.edu e-mail addresses in February or March. The due date will be provided with the invitation, but is typically in March or April. Applications and transcripts are due at that time. Applicants will be notified by the end of May.
