The cost of attending the University of Michigan as estimated by the U-M Office of Financial Aid is based on estimated student budgets for tuition/fees, housing/meals, books/supplies, and personal/miscellaneous expenses, assuming full-time attendance for fall and winter semesters. For an out-of-state student during the 2023-2024 academic year, that cost is $76,294 for lower division (first-year students and sophomores) and $80,364 for upper division (juniors and seniors).
Our local scholarship program exists to help students from the Houston area meet that financial need. The number and size of the awards presented each year vary with the amount of money currently available in our fund for distribution.
Therefore, we depend on ongoing support from our alumni to keep our scholarship program viable. That support can take many forms, including:

- Donating to the U-M Club of Houston Scholarship Fund. You will receive an income tax deduction and University recognition, as with any donation to U-M.
