U-M Club of Houston: Support Our Local Program

The cost of attending the University of Michigan as estimated by the U-M Office of Financial Aid (https://finaid.umich.edu/getting-started/estimating-costs) is based on estimated student budgets for tuition/fees, housing/meals, books/supplies, and personal/miscellaneous expenses, assuming full-time attendance for fall and winter semesters. For an out-of-state student during the 2021-2022 academic year, that cost was $69,326 for lower division (first-year and sophomores) and  $73,056 for upper division (juniors and seniors).

Our local scholarship program exists to help students from the Houston area meet that financial need. The number and size of the awards presented each year varies with the amount of money currently available in our fund for distribution.

Therefore, we depend on ongoing support from our alumni to keep our scholarship program viable. That support can take many forms, including:

  • Suggesting a fundraising idea to benefit our scholarship fund. Contact us by email at uofmhouston@gmail.com.
  • Volunteering to plan, host, or help with a U-M Club of Houston fundraising event or activity. Contact us by email at uofmhouston@gmail.com. Any assistance at all is greatly appreciated!
  • Purchasing our official U-M Club of Houston apparel and merchandise during our yearly promotions. Watch this website, our club email newsletter, and our social media for up-to-date information regarding our club merchandise program.
  • Donating to the U-M Club of Houston Scholarship Fund. You will receive an income tax deduction and University recognition, as with any donation to U-M.
