My Plates is a Texas-based company that was awarded a contract by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) to design, market, and sell new specialty license plates in Texas. The University of Michigan Texas license plate program is sponsored by the U-M Club of Dallas, and My Plates donates a portion of the proceeds to the U-M Club of Dallas Scholarship Fund to benefit Dallas-area students attending U-M. Specialty plate purchases also support the state general revenue fund, which provides services for all Texans.
Please note the following important points listed in the FAQs:
- The price of the plates is in addition to your annual vehicle registration fee. Your annual vehicle registration renewal notice will include any registration and specialty license plate renewal fees that are due.
- Your plates will be delivered to the main office of the County Tax Assessor-Collector for your county of residence. Call your main County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office periodically to confirm the plates have arrived and are available for pick-up.
