The U-M Club of Grand Traverse is hosting our annual Film Festival reception with University of Michigan student filmmakers and faculty from the University’s Department of Screen Arts and Culture on Thursday, August 1st, 2019, beginning at 1:30pm at The Shed at Blue Tractor in Traverse City. The reception is open to University of Michigan alumni, friends and film fans throughout the region. Visiting Michigan friends are also welcome. There is no charge to attend.
The reception will feature light appetizers with a cash bar as well as an informal behind the scenes’ meet and mingle. Faculty and students will can discuss their work as well as their participation in the film festival with showing of UM Shorts and teaching of film school earlier in the day. Guests are encouraged to drop in anytime during the reception from 1:30pm to 3pm.
The reception immediately follows TCFF’s “Shorts by UM Students” at noon at the Old Town Playhouse featuring the premiere of two works, followed by a Q&A by students and faculty. Tickets for the UM Shorts and most TCFF films are free and available through the Traverse City Film Festival at www.traversecityfilmfestival.org or by joining the standby line at Old Town Playhouse approximately 30-45 minutes prior to the showing at noon 8/1/19.
