U-M Role

I taught and conducted research at the University of Michigan for over 30 years in EEB (Biology), SEAS (Natural Resources), and the Program in the Environment. My research covered many areas of fish biology — notably swimming performance and energetics of fishes — and for the past 25 years on environmentally effective shoreline management. I taught courses in fish biology and ecology, especially at the Biological Station, as well as animal physiology, biological management, best research practices and others. For a decade, I participated in teaching courses at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

What Excites You About the Trip?

The Cotswolds featured in the backyard for me and the missus growing up in England, and we are excited to both share this wonderful part of Britain with our U-M alumni, and to learn from seeing it through your eyes. I do not think anywhere epitomizes the pastoral peace of Edward German’s Merrie England like the Cotswolds.
