In emergency rooms and ICUs across the country, clinicians often make split-second decisions about which antibiotics to prescribe, and a recent study from Michigan Medicine reveals that these decisions may have unintended consequences for patient outcomes. Robert Dickson, M.D. of the Department of Medicine’s Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine and deputy director of the Weil Institute for Critical Care Research & Innovation, explores some of the key findings from the new study.
