Santa’s Mailbox

Santa’s Mailbox returned on Main Street this December.

For two weeks in December, a wonder occurs: a mysterious red and blue mailbox, bearing the image of Santa Claus himself, appears in downtown Ann Arbor. Legend has it that a child who deposits a letter into the mailbox will receive an answer directly from the North Pole.

Well, maybe not that far—imagine the postage.

Santa’s Mailbox returned Dec. 2-16 for another season of holiday magic. Located at 318 South Main St. this year, the festive mailbox, overseen by the Main Street Area Association, has been a holiday staple since 2009. Look for next year’s location of the mailbox at mainstreetannarbor.org, and remember to include a return address.
