Echoes of the Past: Greektown as Seen by Sam Karres

This exhibit features the sketchbooks of Sam Karres, a Greek-American artist who captured everyday life in Detroit’s Greektown. His watercolors and sketches bring scenes of music, food, and community to life while offering a look at the neighborhood’s past. The works come from the University of Michigan’s Sam Karres Archive and reflect both his artistic eye and lived experience.
