Welcome to the U-M Club of Houston!
The U-M Club of Houston exists to help connect the University of Michigan, the nearly 5,000 Houston-area alumni, and other local supporters of the University. To create opportunities for alumni to meet each other and benefit from this incredibly accomplished and diversified group, the club hosts a variety of events, including cultural and recreational activities, student recruitment and community service events, and some great watch parties for our fabulous Wolverine sports teams!
Our upcoming events are posted on our club website’s home page, on our social media, and in our weekly email newsletter. We invite you to join us…
Club Programming – We try to plan a broad range of activities that appeal to all ages, interests, and backgrounds. If you’re interested in doing something with other alumni, whether that’s playing Euchre or soccer, attending a Houston Symphony concert, enjoying a networking session with others in your career field, or something else entirely, let us know ([email protected]) and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
Student Relations/Scholarships – Did you know that during the 2023-2024 academic year, over 200 students from the Houston area attended classes in U-M undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs? In August 2024, 51 local students matriculated as first-year undergraduates for the Fall 2024 semester. The club hosts two events each year to bring alumni together with outstanding local high school seniors and their families: the Admitted Student Reception in April, and the Student Send-Off in August. For more information about student-related activities, see our website’s Scholarships and Upcoming Events tabs.
Club Leadership – Are you interested in getting involved? A great first step is to attend our activities and introduce yourself to a Board member. Please email us at [email protected] for more information.
Club Membership – If you’re a U-M graduate but not part of the Alumni Association, please consider joining! As a Houston-area AAUM member, you are automatically a member of our local club, and AAUM members often enjoy reduced admission fees to club-organized ticketed events. Plus, you can take advantage of all the other benefits of AAUM membership, such as the Michigan Alumnus magazine and programs designed to keep you connected to the powerful Michigan network, with over 480,000 members worldwide! In addition, AAUM membership dues directly fund our U-M Club of Houston. So, please join today.
We look forward to seeing you – Go Blue!
