Leaders and Best Scholarships(Merit-based) The U-M Club of Downriver awards three merit based “Leaders and Best” scholarships to deserving Downriver high school students who have been accepted and admitted to one of the three U-M campuses. The awards are a one time $1500 Scholarship. Winners are selected based on their academic, extracurricular, and community achievements. Up to ten finalists will be asked to be interviewed by the scholarship committee. The three finalists are selected based on a point system based on their academic, extracurricular achievements along with the scores obtained from the interviews. The scholarships are awarded in honor of three renowned Downriver citizens: Kenneth Hartwell, John and Sue Ghindia, and Lloyd Carr. . |
