Your Alumni Association offers a wide variety of events---from sporting events to continuing education programs. Our regional alumni clubs also offer programs in your local area, making a Michigan connection easy no matter where you live.

Career Enhancement Series

The Alumni Association hosts career-focused events around the country, each featuring a prominent speaker (recent events included Google cofounder Larry Page and Monster.com founder Jeff Taylor). These events provide opportunities to build relationships that will help you advance professionally and personally, acquire information on workplace trends and meet like-minded professionals.


Amaizin' Blue Classics – April 6 and June 1

If you're a classical music lover then we've got the events for you! Your Alumni Association has teamed up with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra on two exciting programs that you're not going to want to miss – both with a direct link to Michigan. On April 6 members of the U-M Symphony Band will be performing with the DSO and musical director Leonard Slatkin in a program that includes Berlioz, Schubert, Mahler and contemporary American composer John Corigliano. And on June 1 the UMS Choral Union performs with the DSO on Beethoven's beloved 9th Symphony in addition to the world premiere of "Becoming Medusa", composed by UM alumna Stacy Garrop, the winner of the inaugural Elaine Lebenbom Memorial Award for Female Composers.


Oprah Winfrey Presents "The Color Purple"

Join us for a special Michigan Alumni Day event and performance for The Color Purple at the fabulous Fox Theatre in Detroit on June 1. Start the experience with a pre-performance brunch, where a member of the cast will talk about what it's like to be part of the show and then enjoy the performance at discounted prices.


Thirsty Thursdays in Ann Arbor
April 24 and May 29
5:30–7:30 p.m.

Join Ann Arbor area alumni for a Thirsty Thursday happy hour and networking event, sponsored by the Alumni Association. We'll be in the Celtic Room at Conor O'Neill's Irish Pub (318 S. Main St., Ann Arbor) and will have complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, chances to win prizes, and music by DJ Matt Styles. More than 150 alumni attended the last happy hour. Please bring business cards if you're interested in making connections. This event is free so make plans to join us.


Art Fair Ice Cream Social

The Ann Arbor Art Fairs take over town every July, and the Alumni Association makes things a little sweeter with our annual Alumni Ice Cream Social. This great family event is free and open to all Alumni Association members. The Fifth Annual Alumni Art Fair Ice Cream Social is Friday, July 18, 2008 at 5 p.m.


Football Saturdays in Ann Arbor

Alumni Association members want football tickets and we have them! We have 1,000 tickets for each 2008 home game that we'll sell only to Alumni Association members. This is your chance to get tickets for the Big House!


2007 Amaizin' Blue Tailgate Tour

When Michigan's football team hits the road this fall, join your fellow Wolverines at the best tailgates anywhere. We'll host parties on the road at Northwestern, Illinois, Michigan State and Wisconsin in 2007. You won't want to miss these spirited Maize and Blue get-togethers with thousands of other alumni, fans, students and kids from around the country.


Go Blue Pep Rally

Michigan vs. Notre Dame is one of the biggest rivalries in college football, and the Alumni Association will get you in the mood for the game with our 2nd annual Go Blue Pep Rally on Friday, September 14. Bring the whole family to this free event featuring coaches, players, the marching band, cheerleaders and a whole lot of maize and blue spirit. Let's show those Irish who really rules college football!


Reunions

The Office of Reunions and Reunion Giving, a partnership between the Alumni Association and the Office of Development, will host a Recent Grad Reunion, 50th Reunion and Emeritus Reunion in 2008. These spirited events provide a great opportunity to come back to campus and relive your college days.


Go Blue Homecoming Tailgate

Join thousands of U-M alumni for the annual Go Blue Homecoming Tailgate. We have the Michigan Marching Band, great food, spirited entertainment and the best tailgate atmosphere around.


Alpha Phi Alpha Centennial Celebration

Return to U-M's Ann Arbor campus on Thursday, April 9, through Sunday, April 12, 2009, for the Alpha Phi Alpha Centennial Celebration. This milestone is not only an accomplishment for the chapter, but for the entire U-M community, the city of Ann Arbor, and the Michigan District and Midwestern Region of Alpha of Alpha. To commemorate this momentous occasion, we invite you to come back home to reconnect and rejuvenate that good old Alpha spirit. In addition, the Centennial Gala will be one that is not to be missed!


Michigan Alumni Community Service Day

Saturday, April 26, 2008
The Alumni Association's Clubs Council is sponsoring a club–wide community service day that will take place on Graduation Saturday, April 26, 2008. Clubs Council representatives encourage every club to participate in a community service event on that day. Clubs can select their own projects that are specific to their area alumni and community needs. The AAUM is designing t–shirts to commemorate the day for all volunteers to wear at their event. Real Life 101

Real Life 101, our annual series of seminars designed specifically for U-M students, takes an in-depth look at various important "real life" issues that students will face as they get ready to graduate.

Do you love March Madness? Then you'll love MB3, the Alumni Association's annual online basketball tournament. See how this basketball bonanza works and get ready for the fun.


Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament

Join U-M alumni before and after the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament from March 13 through March 16 at Andrus O'Reilly's.


Family Programs

Family fun is right up our alley! The Alumni Association has designed special offerings just for Michigan families, including new family Web pages with valuable resources, fun coloring sheets and puzzles, discounts that will save your family money, books by alumni authors, health and wellness news, Wolverine facts and more. Michigan Stadium Tour

Go behind the scenes at Michigan Stadium, the storied home of Michigan football, on a special tour, offered exclusively by the Alumni Association. Great for kids, families and fans of all ages!


Pigskin Picks

Pigskin Picks is an online competition in which you predict the winners of each week's top college football games. Each week's winner gets a prize, and you accumulate points toward a grand prize-your choice of two season tickets to next year's regular season home games or a trip for two to a regular season road game.


Football Fantasy Experience

The Michigan Football Fantasy Experience is the opportunity of a lifetime for the True Blue Michigan football fan. The winners will enjoy a football game like a VIP. There are two ways to be a winner: Enter the free drawing or take part in the online auction to be a sure winner.


Official University Bowl Tour and Tailgate

No matter where we play in the post-season, the Alumni Association offers the Official University of Michigan Tour and Tailgate. Our tours give you extras not available to other travelers, including an exciting pep rally and other exclusive events, souvenirs and more. We create a "bowl game experience"—not just a trip. It's the ultimate fan experience!

When you're looking for a professional service, like a doctor, dentist or Realtor, wouldn't you rather use a Michigan alum? Through Find Blue Near You, we help you find Michigan alumni in your area who are offering a range of services.


Alumni Chats with Steve Grafton

Alumni Association President Steve Grafton will travel to a number of cities this year to host alumni chats. These informal events provide an opportunity for alumni to share their thoughts, ask questions, and hear about current and hot topics at U-M.


Michigan Alumni Reception in Lansing

Each year, the Alumni Association hosts a reception with U-M President Mary Sue Coleman, AAUM President Steve Grafton, and members of the Michigan State Legislature. This event provides an opportunity for U-M alumni to support the goals of higher education in Michigan while meeting and mingling with prominent state legislators.


Wolverines Run

You asked us to expand Wolverines Run and we listened. It is now open to AAUM members running in any marathon. Now you can bond with Alumni Association members from around the country by participating in Wolverines Run. Runners will receive a free Michigan T-shirt so your fellow alums can identify you on the day of the marathon. Not running? Watch for the Wolverines Run shirts and cheer on your fellow Michigan alums.


Demystifying College Admission Online Program

DCA Online is a compilation of college admissions information from U-M experts, research, Web sites and other sources. It is the perfect place to visit if your son, daughter, grandchildren or other friends are in starting the college admissions process.


Alumni Authors Series

The Alumni Authors Series connects Michigan grads who are published authors with Michigan alumni. Visit the Alumni Authors Series to learn about alumni who have published poetry, fiction, nonfiction and children's books. Each quarter, you'll also find exclusive online content about an author featured in Michigan Alumnus magazine.
